Neurological Stuff

The two bullet point lists below constitute a guide to treating neurological issues. The second bullet point list contains crisis management tips.

Ideally, you should:
  • Start a health journal.
  • Read the ENTIRE site before making changes.
  • Start with B vitamins if you are treating neurological issues.
  • OTHER THAN crisis management to cope with side effects (per the list below), try to make NO MORE than ONE change per week.
  • Treating neurological issues has a high incidence of emotional, psychological and behavioral fall out. PLAN to hunker down, keep yourself fed and entertained and TRY LIKE HELL TO NOT BOTHER OTHER PEOPLE and thereby create a lot of enemies unnecessarily.
IF you begin treating your neurological issues and are NOT seeing improvements OR are actively getting worse: STOP treatment, TEST for metal poisoning, do nutritional support for the hypothalamus and read Infection in the Head.

IF you have metal poisoning, it makes the blood brain barrier more impassable and interferes with the body taking out the trash from the brain. You CANNOT heal a brain injury if your body cannot take out the trash from the brain. You will need to treat for metal poisoning if this is the case in order to successfully treat your brain injury.

If you do NOT have sufficient knowledge to DIY this, find a PHYSICIAN who will be willing to use this information and give you guidance. DO NOT try to DIY this if you really cannot do it. You will cause yourself problems.

DO NOT GO IT ALONE if you have no real hope of pulling it off.
  • You need B vitamins. They are safe to start with and you are extremely unlikely to poison yourself.
  • Read labels, read labels, read labels. IF you are consuming a LOT of peanut oil, step TWO should be removing the peanut oil from your diet. It can take months or years of avoiding peanut oil to fully resolve the issues caused by consuming this highly pro-inflammatory oil.
  • Selenium helps reduce a sense of frustration. Brazil nuts are high in selenium. One to three of them, a few days per week, can rapidly redress a selenium deficiency. (You CAN overdo it and poison yourself. Try to not do that. If you eat a lot of pork: You may already have too much selenium in your system.)
  • Nuts can generally be helpful with brain stuff. READ THE LABEL. Avoid peanut oil as it is pro inflammatory and likely to make brain issues WORSE. Try to get dry roasted if possible.
  • You also need minerals. Going to the beach is a good and SAFE way to increase your minerals levels with little risk of getting too much.
  • You probably need healthy fats. The brain is the highest cholesterol organ in the body and builds MOST of that in-house from B vitamins, but I recommend you add REAL BUTTER -- NOT margarine -- to your diet as well, assuming it is not contra-indicated for some reason.
  • Treating brain issues can result in significant drainage of clear fluid from the eyes and nose. Drinking regular ("black") tea will help keep that down to a dull roar. (Hot tea or cold tea. It does not seem to matter.)
  • If you are having headaches, coffee MAY help depending on what is causing them. Coffee helps clear stuff from the brain, including METALS which make the blood brain barrier more impassable. So metal poisoning interferes with treating the brain.
  • If you have had all the coffee you can stand, HYDRATE (and hydrate some more) and irrigate your sinuses. It MAY help.
  • Sleep is critical to the ability to heal the brain because it only "takes out the trash" when you sleep. If you take it at the right time of day, Co-q-10 MAY help you sleep better while healing your chemical waking-sleeping cycle.
  • If you start dwelling a lot on gross, disgusting thoughts, you MAY have detritus stuck in your brain and failing to come out. Some things which MAY help: A cup of coffee; irrigating your sinuses; treating for metal poisoning; working on improving sleep hygiene; nutritional support for the hypothalamus.
  • If you have ever been given anesthesia, dietary cholesterol has been useful to me in clearing old anesthesia residue. I once was INCOHERENT and could NOT string a sentence together because I was clearing old anesthesia, ate bacon, eggs and butter on flatbread and twenty minutes later was COHERENT again.
  • If you have reason to believe your head injury is infected, you can try to treat it with Oil of Oregano as an antibiotic alternative. It's much more user-friendly than a lot of alternative remedies (like hot baths or poultice) in that you can take it once a day orally and all you need to worry about is figuring out dosing.
  • If your issues involve being plagued by violent imagery, this is likely damage to or infection in the visual cortex. If it starts to heal, you will likely see "stars" or "lightning flashes." This is a positive sign.

Spinal Cord Injuries/Wheelchair Bound People

If you have a spinal cord injury, the above stuff on brain injuries SHOULD also help treat the damage to your spinal cord, BUT if you are wheelchair bound you are most likely NOT getting enough activity to support adequate lymph flow. This is a separate and additional issue that needs special consideration.

Your FIRST priority should be to IMPROVE LYMPH FLOW followed by combating chronic infection and improved nutritional support. Combating infection will increase demand on bodily systems of waste removal, including lymph flow. Trying to kill infection FIRST (or even improve nutritional status) without improving lymph flow will likely cause problems, possibly DIRE problems.

If you are wheelchair bound for ANY reason, I do not recommend trying to improve lymph flow and treat other issues without the supervision of a physician.
