Oil of Oregano

The Low Down:
  • Oil of Oregano is easy to use if you are used to taking prescription medication because you only need to take it once a day orally if you take enough for your needs. (How much is that? I don't know. Sorry.)
  • It's antibacterial and antifungal. It helps against mold and kills MOST forms of pneumonia. It only failed me ONCE when I was trying to clear brewing pneumonia without going to the ER for prescription drugs.
  • You can also eat foods that contain the spice oregano if you need a lesser amount to help with milder problems, like a flair up of excess yeast in your system or a mild exposure to mold.

Rambly, Anecdotal Details

When I was diagnosed with atypical CF, I was living in a horrible little apartment with mold issues and stuff. One of the things I did fairly early on is I began taking oil of oregano daily.

It's anti-fungal and anti-bacterial and helped me avoid antibiotics. It's really strong like an antibiotic but was easier on my body than the drugs.

My recollection is that the recommended dose for oil of oregano is two to three DROPS per day. I was taking some extremely HUGE amount of 1.5 to 2 droppersful.

This is NOT a dosing recommendation. This is a story about my life.

If you want to try this and do not have CF, you will need to figure out for yourself what dose makes sense for you and your life.

Oil of oregano became my go-to answer for brewing lung infections. I only had it fail me ONCE when exposed to something threatening to give me pneumonia yet again.

If you have lung issues, mold issues, desperately need something strong to get off the antibiotics, this is what I would try while you work on getting all your ducks in a row for ramping down drug use.

I haven't taken oil of oregano in years. I no longer need anything that strong.
