Trypanosomas die off and fingernails
I woke up with black gunk under the fingernails of just my left hand a few days back. Ever since, the fingernails on that hand have been developing splits and breaking. My other hand is not doing this.
This is trypanosoma die off. Trypanosomas feed on keratin found in joints, nails and hair. So apparently when it dies, you get black gunk under your nails and then there must be gaps in the structure of the nail where there used to be parasites.
Three of the nails on that hand are screwed up: thumb, forefinger and ring finger.
